Embrace the Process 7B

College is the time to not make mistakes.  College however, is the place to find what’s working and what’s not and change what’s not working.  So far freshman year, I feel as though the transition has been rather smooth.  However, one thing I am failing at seems to be my study habits.  When something gets boring, I tend to walk away and never come back to it.  Even though I am failing at some of my study skills, I feel as if with hard work and determination, I can improve those skills.  Its hard for me to study something that I have a hard time connecting with modern day, especially history.  This week I learned that in order for me to turn my failure in history to success, I need to start connecting it to modern day.  Even though sometimes it might seem there is no connection, when you really understand the concepts of what happened, there always is some connection even if it’s small.
This week has taught me to stick through something even when its hard, because it only gets easier when you stick with it.  College is the time to make those connections and get as much as possible out of everything as possible.  It’s the only time where you can make mistakes without hurting your future.  There always ways to fix the mistakes, sometimes it takes harder work then normal, but in the end it’s all worth it.   When I actually go out into the real world, I know I will have those times where I fail at something, but knowing there is always a lesson to be learned is comforting.  Everyone fails, whether you get a lesson from it or not truly makes the biggest difference.

Life is made up of trial and error; we just have to learn to embrace the process.
