When deciding where to go for
college in April, I was determined not to go to Southern. I was dead set on attending Sacred Heart
University. When the financial aspect of
attending Sacred Heart didn’t work out, my only other option was Southern. I decided I would go without even touring the
campus. I was all but thrilled. However, after spending almost an entire
semester here at Southern, I’m glad I picked Southern. This past semester I have met some of the
greatest people. I have met some that I would
consider best friends. I have professors
that I have loved and disliked but I am extremely thankful for the opportunity
to meet so many new people. This
thanksgiving season I am thankful for my family who has supported me in every
step of the way. Whenever I felt lonely,
they would always be right there to comfort me.
They believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself.
If I went to a school where I
didn’t really click with anyone, I would be absolutely miserable. I am so lucky to have those friends at school
where I feel like I have known them forever.
I am so grateful to have been able to really click with one of my
professors and be able to talk with her if I was ever having any issues. I have never felt this accepted and supported
before and it’s a great feeling.
Now more than ever I am grateful
for my own room when I come home. I
haven’t really clicked with my roommate, but it has taught me that not everyone
wants to be there. Everything that has
happened this first semester at school has made me appreciate things now more
than ever.
